Shalakya Tantra is the branch of an Ayurveda which deals with diagnosis and management of diseases occurring above the clavicle such as ear, nose throat, eye, orodental, head and scalp disorders.  Since this specialty deals with narrow and delicate parts of body which requires various specialized instruments for diagnosis and treatment.

VISION

• To make our students efficient in learning applied aspects of Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat and oral system.
• To learn and understand the subject in the light of modern science too.
• To let them learn the clinical knowledge for Eye, ENT, and Oral dentistry and other concerned neurological conditions based on holistic & systemic approach.

MISSION

For the fulfillment of vision following measures have already been employed:

• Department – well equipped department with subject experts and departmental library for knowledge enhancement.
• Museum: with the help of flex, models and specimens displayed here, students can enhance their knowledge regarding subject.
• Instruments – Various instruments like Slit lamp, Ophthalmoscope, Retinoscope, Otoscope, Tuning forks, Nasal speculum, etc. are there to provide clinical knowledge to the students related to the subject.
• OPD – Ophthalmological, Otolaryngological and Dental examination of patients is done & demonstrated to the students.
• IPD – Local application of medicine at the site of disease (Kriyakalpa: tarpana, putpaka, Vidalaka, Sek, Ashchyotan, Anjana, Nasya, Murdhnitailam etc. & Para surgical: Kshar, Agnikarma, Jaloukavacharana, etc.)  Along with systemic administration as well as different types of surgeries including modern techniques.
