Kayachikitsa is the first branch of Ashtang Ayurveda that deals with general medicine, where Kaya means body and chikitsa means treatment. Kaya also refers to Agni and correction of the Agni in the basic line of treatment for most of the diseases like diabetes mellitus , hypertension, hypothyroidism, shwas roga (asthma, COPD, TB etc.) depression, anxiety, insomnia, gastritis, grahani ( IBS), IBD, arthritis, gout, liver disorders, abdominal disorders , anemia, general weakness etc.
