Shalya tantra is one of the important branch of eight pioneering branches of Ayurveda which provides most promising results in all systemic ailments. Motherhood excels in all the surgical procedures performed by the surgical specialists of Ayurveda. Shalya tantra in Ayurved provides both invasive and non-invasive methods of surgery.

VISION

• To let our BAMS students and BAMS interns learn the basic parasurgical (Agnikarma, kshaar karma, kshaar sutra, Raktamokshan ( Jalaukaavacharan, prachhan karma, siravedha etc.) and surgical procedures (minor, moderate, major) of Ayurveda.
• Preparation of Kshaar and Kshaar sutra for their own practice or future prospects.
• To train the interns through allotment of their duties at respected SHALYA OPD level, SHALYA IPD level and SHALYA ward.

MISSION

For the fulfillment of our vision we have established the following:

• Department: A fully developed department with subjects experts & and departmental library.
• Museum: Enriched with ample surgical specimens and working and non-working models (dummy for learning suturing techniques, Kshaar sutra cabinet etc), charts and flexes.

 Shalya OT Block consists of following:

• Major OT – A fully equipped operation theatre with all amenities for major surgeries like appendicectomy, Hernia repair, Cholecystectomy etc.
• Kshaar Sutra OT – A full-fledged anorectal clinic to treat all types of ailments related with anorectal canal with Kshar sutra Chikitsa, Kshaar karma etc.
• Minor OT – Medical management and surgical interventions of all types of wound management such as chronic, non-healing ulcers like venous ulcers, Diabetic ulcers and infected wounds.
• Recovery room: For monitoring post- operated patients.
• Changing room: For Doctors, nursing staff and BAMS Interns.
• Washing area

• Shalya OPD: A well maintained Shalya OPD with all the necessary equipment.

Shalya ward: A well-equipped ward for Shalya patients with complete nursing staff and ward boy along with provision of nursing Staff duty room and RMO duty room.
