This department deals with the study of basic principles of Ayurveda which are described in classical texts i.e. Ayurveda samhitas. Samhitas are written in sanskrit hence of better understanding of Samhitas, Sanskrit is taught as a Subject. Department also teaches research methodology which is most important for Research in Ayurveda.

This department connects to all the years/professional of B.A.M.S course with following subjects

• Padarth Vigyan Evam Ayurveda Itihas
• Maulik Siddhant Evam Ashtanga Hridaya
• Charak Samhita – Poorvardh
• Charak Samhita – Uttrarardh
• Research Methodology

These subject deals with fundamental study of Ayurveda. All the important Knowledge regarding Samhitas are given by Samhita evam Siddhant. Department includes Classical text of Acharya Charak, Acharya Sushrut, AcharyaVagbhatt, Acharya Sharangdhar etc.
